We loved getting away from the city to relax in this cozy room. It was our first B&B, and the historic house had so much charm. The hosts made us feel welcome right away, and breakfast with locally grown fruit was lovely. Midland and its harbour were beautiful. We'd definitely recommend staying in this heritage home.

The waterfront is an easy walk away, and the property is close to everything. We also really enjoyed breakfast, especially the pancakes made with flour milled at home. Ginette and Ross were gracious and accommodating, and when we asked, they shared stories about the original owners and the property. They're lovely people who take such good care of this enchanting historic place. We highly recommend this B&B.

I called to ask about a room for three weeks later. The woman said no and was about to hang up before I had even given her the date. When I stopped her, she sighed and asked for it. I didn't bother after that. The place looks really cute, and it would've been nice if she'd taken a moment to talk with me.

We were glad we took Jeanette's suggestion to visit Cold Water and have a meal at 'Em's.' It made for a lovely detour on our way. Jeanette and Ross also offered helpful ideas for things to see around the midland area. At Captain's House, the spacious, pretty rooms and all the vintage furnishings, antiques, and personal art made it feel like a relative's beautiful home. Our welcome was warm and reassuring. Tea and coffee are available around the clock, and we were spoiled at breakfast with home cooking, sometimes made with homegrown fruit and home-milled organic flour, served with lovely vintage dishes and linen napkins.

Breakfast was fantastic, more than we expected and really good quality: asparagus egg skillet, ham, fruit parfait, and coffee. The hosts were lovely, the artwork was rich, and the cat was great too. It's close to the marina and entertainment.
