The staff are really friendly, and the place has a unique atmosphere that suits the area. At our event, the buffet kept running out: the vegetables were gone after only one and a half tables had been served, and the chicken was gone by the fifth table. More vegetables and chicken eventually came out, but not soon enough for everyone to eat together. Even so, I’m sure we’ll return. The food is very good and reasonably priced.

I met a friend for lunch on Friday. I’d enjoyed the food several times over the past year, but the new decor and menu left me very disappointed. Flies kept buzzing around and landing on us, the table, and our food, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. The new menu isn’t any better than the old one, and the food was very greasy. I had the patty melt: the bread seemed to have been buttered and fried like a grilled cheese, and the onions were limp and fried rather than caramelized. I didn’t like the beef, though I’m not sure if that was because I’d never had organic beef before. Coffee refills were slow, and we were still hungry when we left, so we went somewhere else for dessert. I’d definitely hesitate to eat here again.

There were 12 of us for Sunday dinner, and we were all impressed by the roast beef meal. It was good quality, a great value, and service was speedy while the pace still felt relaxed. The restaurant’s idea of “served family style” wasn’t what our group expected, though.

It’s a nice older hotel with super friendly staff, and I’d definitely stay again. The only thing that kept this from a five-star review was the recent paint job: there was paint on the couch, across the carpet, on the bathroom tiles and door handle, and even on the coffee kettle. But once I got into that super comfy bed, I forgot about everything.

The bourbon BBQ wings on Wednesday wing night were pretty good, especially for the price, and I’d recommend them. The beer is typical, though they’ve recently started adding craft options, which makes getting a pint more appealing. Friendly service and staff, and the mohawk is a great place to go. I gave it three stars because it isn’t exceptional, and it takes a lot for me to give four or five. You won’t be disappointed.
