Fairmont Tremblant

The fitness center and outdoor pool were incredible, and our spotless room was comfortable and well appointed. The whole hotel felt relaxed, well cared for, and focused on guests. We were blown away by our first stay at Fairmont Mont Tremblant, especially by Ms. Stephane, who was warm and welcoming from our first interaction. She followed up with a text so we’d have her contact details and sent a welcome gift with a handwritten card. That was outstanding hospitality. One thing to plan around: Axe bar doesn’t serve anyone under 18. We ordered for our kids as they came off the slopes, then found out they couldn’t be served and had to drag everything to the other restaurant, where the choices weren’t very good and the prices were outrageous.

The early First Tracks outing at 7:15 a.m. was a highlight, with two lovely hosts guiding us on the mountain. I was in town for the Mackenzie investment conference and felt looked after the whole time. Staff were friendly and attentive everywhere, from breakfast to the bar. Even arrival set the tone: the valet team greeted me with real smiles, took care of my car and luggage, and put my skis in the locker. It made for a comfortable, relaxing stay at Fairmont Tremblant, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Valentine’s Day dinner was disappointing. The food was poor, and there was nothing festive about the table, not even a flower or tablecloth. The ski valet was another letdown: I had to carry my skis inside, queue to store them overnight, then walk to my room in ski boots with my poles. That’s not convenient service. The rooms and bathrooms are dated and badly need renovation. For a hotel at this level, it was also surprising not to find even basic soft drinks in a minibar. The place felt like a glorified Holiday Inn from the 1980s, and the experience fell short of expectations.

The outdoor hot tub is a real highlight, and we had an amazing time at Fairmont Tremblant. We were back Jan 1-4 for the third year in a row, with three families and our adult children, and stayed on the gold floor. The gold floor team were amazing. Mickael Ferreira deserves a special mention for going above and beyond and texting us to confirm dinner and spa reservations. The food in the gold floor lounge and Choux Gras was excellent, and the spa service was amazing too. Axe bar service was repeatedly quite slow, and I think they were understaffed, though they did their best. We still love going there and tried not to let it bother us. We’d absolutely recommend the stay.
