We spotted beavers along the nearby walking path, and it was only a 3 minute drive to a Tim Hortons and gas station. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the cable TV had plenty of channels. The manager was friendly, and the bathtub was easily the best I've seen in a hotel. I'd stay again for sure.

The owners weren't in the office overnight, from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m., but the instructions were clear and they checked in with us in the morning. We had our two dogs with us, and there was a $15 per dog fee, which I guess is understandable if extra cleaning is needed after some pets. The Village Inn was clean and comfortable, and being on the old Highway 17 made it a bit quicker to get back toward Thunder Bay without backtracking through Sudbury. We stopped there traveling from Montreal toward Thunder Bay. Tim Hortons and a Pizza Hut are just around the corner. It was a good place to stay.

The owner was polite and even asked how we slept. We got good value at the local Chinese restaurant too. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I had a restful night. If you just need somewhere to stop and sleep, I'd recommend this spot. Great value for the money. I’m

The smoke was the main problem for me. A previous guest had smoked in the bathroom, and with my asthma, I slept poorly because the smell came into the room whenever we opened that door. There was also a stain near the head of the bed on the sheet, and I couldn't tell what it was. It shouldn't have been there. Food was stuck to the table lamp and it needed cleaning. The floors were nice and the bed itself was comfortable, but bring earplugs because the rooms are very close to a busy highway. At $165, it was much cheaper than a box hotel, though you get what you pay for. Aside from that, it was "okay."

The owners were friendly and suggested a place in the city for us. Our room was bigger than I expected, and the service was exceptional.
