They had space for my 5 tonne work truck, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the shower was awesome.

It was unpleasant having smoke from the guests next door drift into our room whenever we opened the door. We complained, and the staff took action for the time being. The room itself was clean, as was the bathroom, and it had the essentials, including a stove, microwave, mini fridge, and cooking utensils. Getting in from the main road was easy. In our suite, the second room had no A/C or fan, so we usually had to leave its door open to let in cool air from the A/C in the main room. The TV had a problem, and a nice woman from the front desk came to fix it, though the volume still didn’t work. We weren’t bothered enough to ask again.

The staff made the stay easy. The night receptionist changed a $20 bill into coins for the laundry, and when I had to leave two days early, the front desk person kindly charged me only for the nights I stayed. I also got an unexpected free room upgrade. The motel is about 20-30 minutes from white water ski resort, so it’s worth considering if you’re skiing there. The price reflects the quality in this economy. I’d stay here again if I came back to Nelson.

We’ve stayed here now and then over the past 15-16 years, and it’s been a clean, dog friendly, convenient place we’ve enjoyed. This time the first room was cramped and dreary, with a queen bed nearly against the bathroom door, a tiny TV, and a window right by the cars, stairs, and highway. The bathroom door was dirty inside and clearly hadn’t been washed in a while. It was really only suitable for one person if you could put up with the noise and lack of A/C. The price was good, though. Be careful with third party booking sites. Once we moved to the “Jacuzzi Room,” we had much more space, a sofa, tables, comfy chairs, a good A/C, and two excellent nights of sleep. The king bed, sheets, and pillows were amazing. It was set back from the highway and got less direct sun. There was a microwave, dishes, and a decent TV that let you log in and stream. They came in to make the bed and take our dishes, which surprised us but was okay. We moved the long table from the door over to the sofa so we could eat together. I think a breakfast table would be more useful. We didn’t use the Jacuzzi because I’m not into people soup, and if mobility is an issue, getting in and out to shower would be difficult. The billing when we upgraded was inconvenient. I expected to pay just the difference, and although we sorted it out, it was a weekend and we had to wait for everything to post. We’ll book again.
