Oban Inn

Hazel looked after us from booking through check-in, making us feel at home from the first phone call. She checked in at every step to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed in our room. At the restaurant, our server Jimmy was a pleasure to meet, full of energy, and made dinner great. My wife and I also loved our spa visit. Rachel and Oksana did wonderful facials and body massage, and we left feeling like a million bucks. It was a quiet, relaxing stay, with amazing food and friendly staff. Downtown is only a 5 min walk away. It was my first visit, and we’ll definitely come back in summer to see what beautiful Niagara on the lake is like in the hot weather. We were disappointed that the hotel bar was closed during our visit, and the staff seemed very limited at that time of year. The restaurant also wasn't open every night. Since it wasn't summer season, it only served dinner Wednesday to Sunday. The menu looked great, and if we'd known about the schedule at check-in, we could have planned where to eat each night. We booked two nights for the end of March. The rooms were outstanding, spacious, clean, and felt luxurious. Breakfast was included and nice, though the 8am-10am hours felt late when we wanted to get out exploring earlier.

The location is peaceful and beautiful, just off the Main Street in NOTL, with views of the water and park. The restaurant was cozy, had a great atmosphere, and the servers were fantastic. Dinner was phenomenal, and breakfast was excellent too. We came for two nights at the Inn and Spa, and the whole visit was incredible. The staff welcomed us as soon as we arrived, and our room was comfortable and beautiful. Yoko, Monica and Holly were so kind and good at what they do. We had body polish, facials, and pedicures, and the care and setting were beyond any service I’ve had. I can't wait to return to the Oban. Treat yourself to a stay there!

The room was so cold that it was hard to relax. The cottage seemed poorly set up for winter: the floors were freezing, and the heater high near the ceiling kept the hot air up there while the rest of the room stayed cold. Even the coffee machine only made cold coffee. There were loud pipe noises, like a toilet flushing, every two minutes. The pillows were also uncomfortable, and my husband woke with terrible neck pain. For somewhere advertised as the '4th best hotel in Canada,' it fell far short of what we expected. My husband and I stayed one December night in the cottage. The setting is beautiful, and the receptionist was lovely and welcoming, but the room was deeply disappointing and not worth the money. Frustrating, I don't recommend it.
