The AC and Wi-Fi worked well, but the public hot tub has been out of service for some time. We booked two rooms, and neither was cleaned to any standard. Ben, the front desk supervisor, came up and saw the slime and grime in the tub. He promised someone would clean it, but after we went out for a few hours, it was still just as grimy. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The scrambled eggs were dry, rubbery, and overcooked. On the second day we expected housekeeping, but after being out all day we came back to find no fresh towels or replacement items. I think Nicole is in charge of housekeeping. She seems lazy and doesn’t check whether rooms have been cleaned to any standard. Do they even have cleaning standards? I sent my review through the corporate link to BW corporate. They do send the full review to the general manager or whoever handles customer service at the property, but nobody from BW Orillia hotel contacted me. That says a lot about how little they seem to care about guests. No apology or effort to get me to return. Horrible. I’m not sure I’d give this place another chance.

We were travelling with our dog from BC to NS, with a month-long stop in Ontario to see family and friends, and stayed here for five days. The hotel was quiet, the staff were friendly, and our pet-friendly room was great and well appointed. We also had a fantastic meal at the connected restaurant. The only nuisance was having to walk through or around smokers at the side door in the evenings. I’d highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying again.

We couldn’t get the suite we’d been looking forward to because the hotel was full, and the room we got didn’t have the amenities we expected from our online booking. It was clean and spacious, but the mismatch was disappointing. The booking error wasn’t the hotel’s fault, and Nicole, Lyndsey, and Donna did everything they could to make things right and make the stay worthwhile. This review is for the administration staff. Their customer service earned a return visit. Thank you, ladies.

The hotel is a fair distance from HWY 11, which is why I gave the location four stars. The breakfast, though, was exceptionally delicious, and the waitress was attentive and helpful. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and reception was pleasant and helpful. The quality of the included breakfast will definitely count in this hotel’s favour when I choose where to stay again.

The dog-friendly room was very clean and quiet, even though we were next to two entry doors, and it was easy to get outside to walk the dog. Liz at the front desk was great and very helpful.
