Stone Gate Inn

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff pleasant and accommodating. I’m sure they have to deal with a lot of complaints, and the mismatch with the listing isn’t their fault. We came from out of town and chose the hotel based on the website amenities, but there was no food, pub menu, pub, hot tub, fitness center, or in-room robes. We had to get back in the car and go find something to eat. I’m recovering from shoulder surgery and had specifically picked somewhere with a hot tub. There was a small pool with a vinyl liner that had seen better days, though the water was warm. I felt deceived.

We had tickets for a show at Rama, so my husband and I stayed in room 401 last night. Check-in was seamless, and the staff were friendly. The room was incredible and the bed very comfortable. Surfaces were spotless, though the walls in two spots really need a thorough wash. It wasn’t a deal breaker, and I’d highly recommend Stone Gate Inn.

The breakfast was decent, though the only hot choice was scrambled eggs sitting in water. We also had no hot water at all when my husband tried to shower, and the pool room and water were so cold that we gave up on swimming. The spa listed on Expedia was gone. There was construction on our floor, with the hallway lights out for a while. This was our second stay at Stonegate. We loved the quaint place when we came for a show before, so we booked again hoping for a getaway and the advertised amenities. This time, the experience really wasn't good.

The hottub was the reason we booked, and after driving 40 minutes for our only night out without the kids, finding it completely gone was a huge disappointment. We checked out right away. The front desk said it had been removed in 2024, even though the hotel's own homepage photo and Expedia pictures still showed it. Expedia will refund us, but when we called the hotel to ask why the photos were still online and for help, we got rude responses that it was “out of their control.” The front desk hung up on my fiancé. It felt like staff didn't care about the misleading advertising or customer service.
