Outlook Motor Hotel

The place was very old, the room smelled musty, and the stairs were rickety. I got there at 4:30 p.m., but there was no key available because the manager, who had it, was in Saskatoon and expected back around 9 that evening. ??? The bartender opened the room with a master key. At least they had Zero beer, and it was cold.

The owners and restaurant staff were really helpful and accommodating. I was working online and needed a dependable, fast connection while traveling down to Diefenbaker. This was the closest place I could find that understood what connection I needed and delivered. It was a lifesaver for my work.

Nice bar, and the people were friendly.

We found dead bugs all over the floor, hair in the tub, a leaking bathroom sink, a used cup under the bed, and brown and red splatter marks on the walls. The room clearly hadn’t been vacuumed well. Check-in wasn’t available until 2 p.m., even though we’d been told 11 a.m. beforehand, so there should have been plenty of time to clean it. When I raised the problem, the staff member said they couldn’t do anything about the bugs. Live bugs would be understandable, but there’s no way that many died between cleaning and our arrival, so the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. She checked it herself, said it was fine, and offered to clean it again, meaning actually vacuum it. But the cup was still under the bed. My spouse and I turned to each other to discuss another concern, then turned back to speak with her and she’d walked away. That was rude. The next morning, we asked someone else if we could get a discount, even 20% off or $20. After a phone call, the manager said no and told us to go to another hotel. Most places were basically full, so we couldn’t, or we would have. I said it was too late since we’d already stayed, and asked if we’d come just to pay for a dirty room. He hung up on us. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I definitely won’t stay there again.
