Ocean Trails Resort

All four of us had a lovely stay. The rooms had the essentials for cooking and everyday living, and the beds were decent. My only criticism is that the pillows felt a bit lumpy to me.

The unit was renovated, attractive, clean and convenient, with new kitchen appliances and laundry. It's also ideally placed for getting to the hot tub and pool. There weren't many glasses in the kitchen, though, and the living room couch wasn't comfortable to sit on. It does fold out into a bed, which could be useful for families. We never got a confirmation message. We arrived on Christmas Eve and had to make phone calls to find out the unit number and the door keypad code.

We spent three nights at Ocean Trails as a family, in one two-room suite and one one-room suite. The pool area was nicer in person than in the photos, and it seemed very well maintained. It's good value and you can't beat the location. The resort has the potential to be five star, though I'd rate it a solid 4-4.5. The website and promotional pictures seemed to overstate how nice our suites were. They're independently owned, so the fit and finish can vary a lot. Nothing was wrong with our unit per se, but it didn't look as nice as the marketing. Cleanliness fell short of expectations, though it wasn't terrible, and I'd suggest bringing your own towels. There were also a few minor maintenance issues, not enough to complain about, but worth mentioning to the operators and future guests. I'd stay again and recommend it to others, just with slightly lower expectations.

The location and beach access are great, and the resort is so kid-friendly. Our rooms were clean, there were plenty of towels and clean sheets, and we felt comfortable as soon as we arrived. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The landscaping was beautiful and very well kept, and it was lovely seeing other families enjoying their summer vacations. Another amazing stay at Ocean Trail's. Looking forward to coming back!
