Sea Edge Beachside Hotel

My daughter and I planned to stay February 3 to 8th, but enjoyed it so much that we added a day. We had separate rooms upstairs, and the stair railings were good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with an unbeatable view and a perfect spot for beach lovers. We made good use of the outdoor fire pit and the other fire options, and BBQed twice. The lounge is a lovely place to spend some time, and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I did wonder if the sticky bathroom floor in my room was meant to prevent slipping. One thing that would help me, since I have some mobility issues, is a ramp into reception. There's no railing to hold when stepping up. We're looking forward to coming back.

Even with a cold, rainy week, we enjoyed every moment at Sea Edge. The ocean view was unobstructed, and daily beach and boardwalk walks made for a memorable mini vacation. The cottage/house was super clean, with very comfortable beds. The furniture is older, but suits the place, and it was wonderfully quiet, just what we wanted. Jufor the Manager was professional, friendly, and helpful, recommending restaurants and responding right away to a few small requests. The cleaning staff also did excellent work. We'll definitely be back to Sea Edge next year.

I've stayed at this motel many times over the decades, and it's still my favourite place in Parksville, especially if you find a good deal. This visit I got the stay 2 days, get 1 day free offer. The location is hard to beat: step out from your room onto a lawn and play area, then straight onto Parksville's best beach. Under new management, they've put a lot into upgrades, and the rooms are clean and well kept. I tried a couple of different ones, and liked the spacious walk-in showers with rainheads and handheld sprayers, large smart TVs, luxury linens on the beds, and kitchenettes with cooktops and apartment-sized fridges if you want to eat in and save money. I was disappointed that when I added three more days, they wouldn't simply extend the lower rate, so the second three days cost much more. There were ants in my bathroom, which I reported twice; it took two days to resolve, but it was fixed. A few little issues too: the shower door kept sliding open, and the bedside lamp didn't work properly. Still, it's definitely a great place to stay.

The beds were top-notch for comfort, the rooms were clean, and the view, gazebos, and gas fire pits were all lovely. It really feels like a resort destination. On cooler days, the lounge's hot chocolate and different coffees are a nice touch, and the lounge itself is a pleasant place to sit. We loved our accommodation, and the friends from out of town whose rooms we booked enjoyed their stay too. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly and accommodating.
