There’s a shared kitchen with coffee, which was handy. Mostly, this was a great little place to get some sleep on a long drive. The beds were comfy, and the room could be made dark and cold, just how I like it. That’s rare for a hotel!

The owner greeted my girlfriend and me after our long drive and was so polite. They made everything feel stress free. The hotel had a lot of character and felt like home. Can’t recommend it enough.

We loved how peaceful it was, and even saw deer in the backyard. There was plenty to do nearby, too. We walked around the area, visited the local museum and restaurant, checked out BC stops of interest, and had amazing ice cream at the gas station. Floating as a family on tubes down the Kettle River beside the hotel was a lot of fun. Next time we’ll bring our mountain bikes for the local trails (KVR), and it’s great that the Hotel has a locked bike storage room. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a feel from another time. This heritage hotel has so much rustic charm and feels wonderfully unique. The owner was super friendly and gave us lots of ideas for outings and activities. It’s exciting to see the place open again, and I can’t wait for the pub and cafe to open too. I’d highly recommend the Hotel Midway if you’re after something a little outside the box!
