The location was quiet even though it’s along a main street, and the room was spacious, clean, and spiffy. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. There were a few furnishing oversights, but we figured the renovation’s finishing touches weren’t done yet. It’s nearing the end of a thorough renovation, and it was great value.

The replacement room wasn’t clean at all. There were about half a dozen dead silverfish in the tub, no shower curtain or toilet paper, and the TV didn’t work. The kitchenette had no dishes, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, and the mirrors and windows were filthy. We’d first been put in a room with hot water spraying from a leak under the sink, so they moved us. That switch was fine, but this ended up being one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

The relaxed Okanagan feel made it a nice place to unwind after exploring or spending time at the lake. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-in through check-out all felt easy. A very pleasant stay, and I’d come back. A comfortable, convenient, low-cost option in Penticton that I’d recommend.

I didn’t feel comfortable here as a solo woman traveler, even though I had a friend staying nearby in another room. Front desk staff had a friend who always seemed to be hanging around the lobby, and the room doors only had one lock, not even a swing bar. The cleaning also wasn’t adequate: silverfish, hair on the towels, and tissue in the bedding. Despite the “newly renovated” description, I wouldn’t stay here again.

There are lots of amenities within walking distance. The rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable, though this is definitely a no-frills place. Parking was tricky when we arrived on Sunday, but it was less busy during the weekdays. Overall, we had a great stay.
