Super 8 by Wyndham Peterborough

The beds were comfortable, and we stayed on the top floor. The bathroom shower had rust, though, and the room could use some updating. There was a basic free breakfast, and next time I’d like to try the pool since it stays open late. It’s a good budget hotel on Ptbo’s main business strip, a short drive from downtown. We did have to wait about 10 minutes to check in because the staff had stepped away from the desk.

Of the Peterborough hotels I’ve tried, this one ranks fifth for cleanliness, comfort, location, and value. It’d be my last choice if there were no other options, though I would stay here again. Before booking, call the hotel directly and ask whether a large event, like a hockey tournament, will have guests staying there. If there is one, I’d book somewhere else, even if it costs quite a bit more.

The bed was comfortable and the room was okay, though the hotel itself is outdated. We chose it because its customer satisfaction score was 8.0 and it was close to our event. I completed the pre-check-in, which was fine, and at arrival the desk staff greeted my wife and me and handed over the room key. At electronic checkout I was prompted to tip the staff. I’ll spare the rant, but I’m tired of being asked for tips when all the service was a hello and handing me the key. I won’t stay here again. Ridiculous. 🙄

The complimentary breakfast had a good range of options, and the location was handy for restaurants, shopping, and getting onto the highway. My room at Super 8 Peterborough was spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing night. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and both check-in and checkout were quick and easy. It was great value for the price, and I’d happily stay again.
