I wouldn't return. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, and there was hair in the bedding. The hotel felt run down and poorly maintained. There's no elevator, and the stair carpet is so badly worn along the edges that it could trip someone, especially if they have mobility issues. I would have spoken to staff, but the only person there left as soon as the ferry group had been dealt with. I slept as much as I could and left very early the next morning.

We had a great stay with our two dogs, and the view made the trip worthwhile. The place looks a bit rough, but our room was clean, the beds fairly comfortable, and it had a flat-screen TV and a decent mini fridge. It was an especially wonderful spot during FiLoMi days. We'd stay again, and hopefully the bar downstairs will open soon.

The room's paint and drywall were coming off, and the whole place smelled bad. There's no elevator, and the carpet on the stairs is a tripping hazard. From what I understand, the restaurant has been closed for a long time. If I came back to Port Hardy and had to stay here, I'd sleep in my car overnight.

The building is older, but it was clean and comfortable, with the same sort of amenities as a pricier place: microwave, mini fridge, TV, coffee maker, and more. The harbour view was great, and I think most or all of the units have balconies overlooking the water. Pets are allowed, too. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. My phone had died, but a nice woman gave me a local map and found me a restaurant that was still open.

For $143, I expected more than a mediocre room. It felt like a 1970s hotel where little had changed apart from the paint. The bed was clean and reasonably comfortable, but the room was stuffy and not adequately clean. There was no elevator or air conditioning, and the bathroom fan didn't work, so we had to open the unscreened patio door.
