Pacific Point Market

The cashier at Pacific point Market was so grumpy. She didn’t look at me or respond when I said hi, which felt really rude. I bought my cookie and sandwich and left. Pacific point Market needs to improve its customer service and hire better staff.

The woman at the meat counter was fantastic and so friendly. We had a microwave where we were staying, so chicken pieces and coleslaw sounded perfect. She offered to heat the chicken in her oven, no problem. We ate on our balcony with BC red wine, looking out at the sea as Orcas played, Humpback Whales drifted by, and seals were around. A perfect end to another perfect day in BC. Is British Columbia the friendliest place in the world? ❤️

The staff are friendly, and the place is clean and nice. But the deli prices have gone up, and I’m rethinking where to get lunch. Nearly $9 for a sandwich made and refrigerated two days earlier doesn’t feel worth it, even though it was edible and probably safe. Fresh options are better, so I’m thinking of going to subway. A discount sticker for sandwiches at least a day old might help, say 10% off after one day and 20% or more at two days or beyond. You could sell them faster and turn over stock sooner.

My family had the three-bedroom suite for a night, and it was the highlight of our vacation. The rooms were brand new, extremely clean, and in a safe neighborhood. The beds were very comfortable, and details like the heated bathroom floor were a nice touch. We could check in until the downstairs Market closed at 10pm. My only concern was the windowless third bedroom, which could be dangerous in a fire. Still, I’d definitely recommend staying here in Powell River.
