The Old Courthouse Inn

The beds were a nice surprise, plush and modern even with all the old-fashioned decor around them. I also enjoyed the free breakfast at Edie Rae’s Café, with friendly service. The Old Courthouse Inn felt like spending a night in a museum. Rooms named Police station #3, the Sheriff’s Office, and Judge's Chambers are full of antiques, vintage frames, and local collectibles. The lamps and artifacts suit the building’s 1930s roots, and each room has its own character.

The breakfast at the café downstairs was tasty, and it was included with our stay. There’s a breakfast menu, though you can order from the regular menu too. The innkeeper was very helpful, and the view was nice. It feels more like staying in a historic place than a hotel, which makes sense given the building. Our room was well kept, but quite small, and I wouldn’t call it spacious. We enjoyed our stay and thought it was a good place to stay.

Breakfast was a highlight for us. It came with the stay, but the creative, delicious food felt worth praising on its own. Kelly and Frankie were especially warm and attentive, and the staff made us feel cared for throughout. The Old Courthouse Inn in Powell River has real character, and it was spotless, from our room to the shared spaces. It feels like a lovingly maintained time capsule, with vintage charm alongside modern comfort. We had a memorable stay and can’t wait to come back.

I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The room was nice, with good channels and the option to log into our own Netflix account. Kelly was great and kindly printed something for us.
