The cleaning staff were very nice, and I feel for them working there. The property itself was gross, hot, and smelly, and the photos don’t show its real condition. There were odd electrical cords running out from under the carpet and baseboards that didn’t look code compliant. The water was yellow, had chunks in it, and smelled strange. The shower kept switching from hot to cold every five seconds. It smelled like an ex smoking room, the walls had yellow stains, and the bed seemed as old as the property. There was no access to the ocean, so calling it Seaside is a stretch. The owner made a snide comment about dog owners always travelling with two dogs, as if that made a difference, and his dislike of dogs was obvious. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, ever. It should be condemned.

The rooms were pretty spacious and had a great view, but the water smelled like a septic tank and was yellow. We didn’t take a chance with it and used bottled water for everything. That made the stay not great. The $40 pet fee is too much as well.

Check-in was easy, and the person at the front desk was really friendly. They even gave us some highlights of what was happening in Powell River. The room was a little dated and the carpets need replacing, but it was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen, with a full apartment-sized fridge, a complete stove, and everything needed to cook and eat. We booked the queen with kitchen for a reasonable $140. It’s an inexpensive, friendly place in a great location, and pet friendly for a small fee. We’d definitely stay again.

We had a very comfortable, quiet overnight stay, with great parking. The kitchen was fully stocked with the latest gadgets and a nice big fridge. There was a separate bedroom and living room, and everything made the night really pleasant. One of the best motels we’ve stayed in.

The water was the one downside, though we’d seen earlier reviews and came prepared for it. We really enjoyed the week we spent here in Powell River. The location is convenient, close to a grocery store and with easy access to local sights. Our room and washroom were clean, service was excellent, and the kitchen was well equipped. There’s also a small picnic area overlooking the ocean.
