Powell River Town Centre Hotel

Rooms are clean, the staff are nice, and the location is central. But the continental breakfast and restaurant vouchers are gone. I usually stayed two or three nights, several times a year, but checked out two days early once I found out. It’s unfortunate. Price tells, but value sells.

The older woman at the front desk was rude to me and kept giving our hockey team’s kids a hard time. They were following the rules. She also stopped me from taking my granddaughter into the bar for food at 7:10 pm, saying kids weren’t allowed after 8 pm. We parents got a warning letter claiming our kids were noisy and breaking rules, but it was kids from another team running around and making noise. She wouldn’t let us explain. The hotel is very old and run down, the floors smell musty, and the rooms felt like they hadn’t been heated in a while. Anyone going to Powell River should avoid this hotel.

The hotel was okay for a quick stop. The rooms felt a bit dated and gloomy, and the attached pub was nothing special. I’d stay again if I were passing through.

The room was basic but clean, with fresh towels each day and nice Lavazza coffee in the room. Breakfast had a good variety, and the inner courtyard was lovely. The location is central too. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond for our choir of 35. I’d stay again.
