Hôtel Repotel Henri IV

The location was nice, close to Old Quebec, with a good coffee shop nearby. The mini fridge and basic utilities were useful, and the coffee machine at reception was a nice touch. There was no room service. But the room was poorly cleaned for the price. There was dust and hair on the sheets, pillows, covers, towels, and bathroom sink, plus yellow and brown stains on the covers. I was bothered all night. The shampoo and body wash were poor quality and unlabeled, and the bathroom lighting was poorly maintained. They didn’t provide water, which seemed odd when coffee was available. At check-in, the woman at the front was rude and unpleasant. We asked for rooms next to each other because our kids would be in a room on their own. She seemed unhappy about the request and said no changes could be made.

We booked Henri IV Repotel in Quebec because it seemed reliable and close to the airport, and we stayed there last week with our two children. When we opened the sofa bed, the sheets already on it were dirty, with stains and crumbs from bread and rice. I took photos because I’d never seen anything like it. It was honestly disgusting. I went downstairs, but there was no one at reception that late at night. With an early flight, our only option was for the kids to sleep with us in the main bed meant for two. I emailed management afterward about the major inconvenience of having one bed for four instead of two, but got no meaningful response and nothing was offered to make up for it. There was no free shuttle to the airport.

The hotel is about 15 minutes by car from downtown and has plenty of parking. Our room had a mini fridge, TV, AC, and iron, which was handy. For fresh towels, you’ll need to ask reception since housekeeping doesn’t replace them automatically. There’s a coffee machine in the hall with a good range, from French vanilla to espresso, plus a microwave. Bring your own plate or container if you want to heat up food. They don’t provide bottled water, so bring your own before checking in. It was a practical stay with good amenities for the price, as long as you come prepared with a few extras.

In my opinion, this is no more than a place to spend the night, with no amenities at all. They don’t provide room service and never clean the room. I don’t think it deserves a three-star rating, and would give it two stars at most.
