Camping - Chalets Lac St-Augustin

We stayed in a very comfortable fifth-wheel trailer with a great kitchen. It's a relaxing, affordable base for visiting Quebec City, with a pool, laundry, playground, weekend entertainment, and a small concession on site.

My first time staying at a campground, and I loved the peaceful cottage, which had all the basic amenities. The lake views at sunrise were astonishing. There was a book exchange cupboard where you could leave a book and take one for free. The people were nice, too. Juliana welcomed us, and the older woman who came to clean the next day was super helpful. I borrowed her pen to write a message inside the book I left in the exchange. The loud music and witch-like laughing from an RV trailer or cottage nest to us was a real turn-off. Staff should make sure guests don't make so much noise. Still, it was a great place to stay.

The campground was just okay, somewhere in the middle. It was raining when we arrived, and lots of sites were flooded, so the park clearly isn't suited to rainy weather. Some sites were laid out in a way that made backing campers in look nearly impossible. There are lots of trees around the campsites, which are nice until it's time to leave and you have to steer around them.

The waterfront trailer was clean and affordable, though a bit run down, and the site was lovely. It cost much less than a hotel close to the city. The young woman at the front desk was wonderful. I'd definitely return.
