Hôtel Manoir de l'Esplanade

Everyone we encountered, from the front desk and breakfast staff to the room attendants, was kind and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and well located, and breakfast, which was included in the room charge, had something for everyone. The style may not suit every taste, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks for a wonderful time.

The room was very clean, and the mattress was great. There was a refrigerator and a Nespresso machine, though I’d have preferred regular coffee and tea. The pillows were too full for me to sleep comfortably.

Breakfast was great, and we didn’t have to rush out to find food. The staff were great too. It’s a quaint, cozy spot in a really good location: turn left outside and you’re on your way to Old Town Quebec. Our room was cute, though the pillows were a bit flat and could use an upgrade. The TV didn’t work and felt too old for today. We hardly watch TV, but after a long day it’s nice to have something on in the background while winding down. I’d definitely recommend the hotel and its location. The photos are of nearby spots, since I didn’t take many of the hotel.

The check-in person and the room itself were great, but the breakfast arrangement was awful. It looked like a self-serve setup, yet guests weren’t allowed to serve themselves, leaving many confused about what was expected. They need to choose one approach, self-service or full service. Our flight wasn’t until late on checkout day, so we booked tickets for the citadel tour. Only at checkout did we learn the hotel would close entirely at 1 p.m. for planned repairs and couldn’t hold our luggage. We’d had no advance notice and were given no suggestions for storage. We had to leave for the airport early and lost both our money and the chance to see the citadel and do the last things we’d planned. I’m extremely annoyed and disappointed.
