The shower was the one odd detail: its fixed controls and head are mounted low enough that anyone over about 5'9" may bump their head. You can’t adjust the angle like you could with a regular showerhead. Still, it’s good value for the price, and I’d come back.

There’s a nice patio under a gazebo, plus a barbecue and smoking area. Upstairs at the end of the hotel, there’s also a little decor area that’s a great place to watch the herd walk through town. The rooms with a small stove were handy for cooking, though in winter it was easy to set off the smoke alarm since there’s no fan. I’ve visited twice, once in summer and once in winter. I came back partly because of the hammock in the front yard, but it wasn’t there on my winter visit, which was disappointing. The hotel is close to downtown Radium, and everything is within walking distance. In winter I found the heating rules a bit confusing. I usually like a cold room, but I still had to layer socks, put on a Yukon and wear my jacket indoors. The thermostat didn’t respond well.

I really enjoyed my stay. While I was using the barbecue, the manager noticed the propane was running low, refilled it without being asked, and came to tell me it was sorted. That was thoughtful and professional, and I appreciated the extra care.

The shower had lots of options, which I loved, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable.
