Super 8 by Wyndham Red Deer

The lobby was the only decent-looking area. Beyond it, the hall carpets were filthy, stained, clearly long unvacuumed, and the whole place smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Inside the room I found wall patches and stains, black handprints on the door, carpet burn marks, holes in the blankets, and a bathtub with burn marks. The sheets on one bed were visibly dirty, and the carpets hadn’t been vacuumed. The curtains were see-through, let the outside lights in, and didn’t cover the whole window. Breakfast was a moldy apple and a stale muffin. I found it one of the most disgusting rooms I’ve ever seen, even compared with places I’ve stayed in developing countries while traveling around the world. The staff were rude and struggled to communicate because they didn’t speak English. This property should be investigated by AHS and possibly the fire department. It shouldn’t be operating in this condition, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Wyndham should be embarrassed to have it under their name.

Super 8 was a good value for the price. My room was comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, and it was easy to find in a convenient location. I had a nice stay and would come back.

We chose this place because breakfast was included, but there was no breakfast. Outside, people were doing drugs, and the rooms were dirty. There was ice by the front entrance, my partner fell on it, and we ended up in the hospital for seven hours. A very bad experience in several ways. We wouldn’t stay again, and I think you should spend your money somewhere else.

I found the location easy to get to, and the price was very reasonable for an affordable stay in Red Deer. The room had what I needed for a short visit and was comfortable. Staff welcomed me warmly and check-in was quick and easy. I had a great stay at Super 8 and would recommend it, and stay again.
