Hampton Inn by Hilton Vancouver-Airport/Richmond

The airport shuttle was a large van and worked great, and I appreciated the brown-bag mini breakfast available before 6am. There’s also a good security feature: you need a key card to use the elevator from the ground floor. The shower had a nice main head plus a handheld one, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted on the wall. It could use a non-slip mat and a grab bar, though.

The hotel is well maintained and has plenty of parking, while the staff are good and handled concerns promptly. The rooms felt cramped because they were a bit small. Breakfast was okay, but they kept running out of muffins and fresh fruit. Most activities were about a 30-40 minute drive away.

The front desk staff were super nice and welcoming, but the room was very dirty and poorly kept. Light fixtures and hangers weren’t properly attached, and the walls, floors, and other surfaces were grimy. These seem like simple things to fix. If such obvious issues are overlooked, I’d be very hesitant to eat the food here. Colleagues who stayed here gave similar feedback, so my experience doesn’t seem to have been a one-off. A clean room matters most to me, and this hotel failed to provide that.

I was here for work for four nights. The room was clean and fairly quiet, the breakfast had lots of variety and was very good, and the Richmond location was decent. Free coffee and tea were available around the clock, and there are fitness rooms. Traffic outside can make the turn into the hotel difficult, and the parking lot was completely full every evening.
