Comfort Inn Rimouski

The room was clean and spacious, but the value just wasn't there for the price. It smelled unpleasant, and the breakfast room was so crowded and noisy that we left and went to Tim Hortons.

This hotel works well at the right price. The beds were comfortable, and my standard room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. Breakfast was fine, though seating was limited. I had an English muffin.

The staff were good and courteous, and the person handling breakfast did a good job, but there was very little space for the meal, barely enough for 20 people. The options were limited, too. The breakfast itself was basic. The location is okay, but the infrastructure is very old and the rooms are small with hardly any appeal. There was barely room to open a suitcase, so I had to put mine on the bed. The bathrooms weren't very clean, and the hotel seems overdue for a renovation. I definitely wouldn't put it on par with other Comfort Inns.

The room was so clean that I was surprised a two-star hotel could be like that. I also found the receptionist's English easy to understand, which felt rare for a hotel in Quebec outside Montreal. When I asked for cold water, the receptionist brought me some for free, which was great. The location is quiet, though it's not as urban or developed as Montreal, and that isn't a big issue. The parking lot is spacious, but from our window it blocked the view, so we could only see the lot instead of the beautiful scenery. Breakfast could use more variety, and the corridor ceiling felt a little low, which may bother people with claustrophobia. I'd give it 4.1 out of 5.
