Hôtels Gouverneur Rimouski

Be careful, as your belongings might not be secure here. My husband and I stayed one night at hotel Gouverneur while touring Gaspsie. After checking out and reaching our next stop in Gaspe, I realized I'd left a few items behind. After several emails and phone calls, Hotel Gouverneur management said nothing had been turned in and suggested I must be mistaken or lying. They offered no accountability or compensation. I wish I could give them a negative rating.

The location is good, and the receptionist was kind and very polite. The room, though, was in horrible condition. There wasn't a bedside lamp or a wardrobe, and the TV quality made me feel like I was living in the 80s. They really need to improve the rooms.

It's a pleasant hotel near the water in Rimouski, within walking distance of some conveniences and the paths beside the river. The place feels a bit dated, and the restaurant didn't appeal to us. Check-in took a while, and we had trouble with the significant fee for our small dog. The website says pets are welcome but doesn't mention fees. If I came back to Rimouski, I'd look for a better place to stay.

The room was very spacious, and the desk person was very helpful to me. It's close to eateries and some big chain stores, with a beautiful view of the St-Laurence river. But the hotel needs renovation, and I could hear everything, from the toilet flushing to doors closing. The soundproofing could be better.
