Motel Cartier

The staff were good, though they were busy with restaurant takeout orders, and the cleaning staff were really pleasant. The room was reasonably clean, but I found a couple of long hairs in the bed and wasn’t completely sure the linen had been washed. It’s dated and basic, which I can live with. What bothered me most was the window: there’s only a sheer curtain, so after dark people walking by can see in if the light is on. The windows face east, too, so morning sun comes in full blast. I definitely wouldn’t return, though I’ve had much worse motel stays.

We got a loft room that worked perfectly for my family of 5, with everything we needed and a clean space, all for a good price. The decor was dated, but that’s not surprising for a motel. Having a St.Hubert attached was great too, since we didn’t need to look elsewhere for a meal. This place was a gem and I’d highly recommend it for a budget friendly stay.

The location worked for us, and check-in was handled well despite a bit of a wait at the restaurant takeout desk on a busy Friday. The bathroom was very clean, but there was a big drink splash on the wall by the bed that staff had left there. It made me wonder about the rest of the room. We could hear the people next door talking, plus kids running around a couple of doors down. The walls are thin. It was okay for our night on the way home from NS and might suit a tight budget, but if you can afford somewhere else, I’d choose that.

The shower in my room was partly broken. When you only speak English, the service is no service at all: nobody speaks English, and they don’t even answer you.
