Domaine de nos Ancetres

The decor is nice, but the walls are paper thin and there’s plenty of road noise. The stair lights were off, so bring a flashlight. They provided coffee and a machine, but no fitting filters, and tea without a kettle. I expected breakfast from the photos on the booking site. I only realized afterward, on their mobile site, that breakfast wasn’t offered. I’d been sent straight to the booking site from another website for the same company, so I missed that. My mistake for not checking, but they should take down the breakfast photos if they don’t serve it.

The village is small and quiet, so it’s best to pick up food on the way, especially if you’re arriving in the evening. We stayed one night before our whale cruise, and Tadoussac was about a 17-minute drive away. We didn’t see any staff, but that was fine. Our ground-floor room opened with the code without any trouble. The email instructions were all in French; I know a little, so it wasn’t a big problem, though I was briefly confused because I expected a room number and each room has a name. The room and spacious bathroom were clean, the beds were pretty comfortable, and we had a fridge with a small freezer, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. The Wi-Fi was amazing.

We stayed just one night before our whale cruise. The room was clean and nice, nothing fancy, with good Wi-Fi and cable TV. It also had a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and fridge. The toaster set off the smoke detector, lol. It’s a very small village with only basic supplies. We spoke with the women at reception. One spoke very little English, but the other communicated well and was really helpful. It was a good stay.

The included breakfast was great, and they offered warm drinks for free throughout the day. There’s also decent Wi-Fi, plus a TV and AC in the room. The staff were more than friendly, and the bathroom was really nice. Rooms have plenty of space. It looks just great and seems to have been recently registered. A great little hotel close to Tadoussac, and I’d recommend it as an alternative to anything in Tadoussac.
