The food alone makes this restaurant worth a detour. The menu is unusual and original, with fresh, well-prepared dishes presented beautifully. There are lots of ways to try different mushrooms, and the flavors have a boreal feel. I only wish there were a tasting menu with small portions, since so many dishes sounded tempting. We went for Saturday dinner at the old rectory in the heart of St-Élie-de-Caxton. The welcome was warm, and Maya gave us friendly, impeccable service without any fuss. She knew the menu inside out and explained it perfectly.

I can’t remember the last time I ate this well. The flavors were so well balanced, and the textures were surprising and sensational. Each plate looked like a work of art, and the chef’s boreal-style culinary research really came through. It’s wonderful cuisine, exquisite and delicious, with warm, top-class service. Thanks to this local restaurant. I can’t wait to return, and I’d tell everyone to go!

Set in the village center, this beautiful oasis is full of culture and heritage as well as great food. The forest flavors made the meal feel like a glimpse of a time when cooking drew on what the woods had to offer. I can’t recommend Le Lutin Marmiton enough!

The presbytery is a lovely setting for this restaurant, and we were warmly welcomed. The lunches were delicious, especially the much appreciated forest specialties.
