Hastings House was our favourite stop on a week away in Victoria and Salt Spring Island, even after staying in several places. The harbour views are stunning, and the grounds are kept immaculately. The historic parts of the estate are charming, while the newer additions blend in seamlessly with thoughtful furnishings and decor. The rooms feel cozy, like a home away from home. Staff were all friendly, and I especially want to thank Marlo and Daniel for their kindness and help through some unforeseen circumstances. It's a bit of a splurge, but worth it. And the warm muffin delivered in the morning should convince anyone still unsure!

The suite had a homely feel, and we loved sitting by the fireplace, chatting with other guests while being served cocktails. Dinner was beautifully presented and delicious, as was breakfast in the east rooms of the house. The gardens, English architecture, views over Ganges Harbour, and quiet rooms all added to an unforgettable visit from the moment we arrived at the office until we left through the gate. The staff were courteous and engaging. Thank you, Allan and your wonderful staff!

Good morning. We celebrated my wife's birthday at Hastings House restaurant. The place is classy and the service was superb, but the food was only so-so. Her vegetarian dish was fantastic; my schnitzel was dry and very ordinary, barely edible, and certainly not worth $50. The ambiance and our charming, attentive waitress saved the evening. Maybe we'll return, but certainly not to dine.

Chet made dinner feel really welcoming. He knows his stuff as a server and sommelier, and we had some lovely conversations with him along the way. My husband and I were there for his birthday, and the food was delicious. Definitely try the shepherds pie.

Marla at the front desk had every detail of our stay arranged just the way we wanted. The whole four days at Churchill Cottage felt easy and wonderfully organized. The bed was the best I’ve slept in for years, and everyone was so friendly and quick to help with what we needed. Executive chef Marcel’s meals were exquisite. Monty, the Dining Room Manager, brought such a charming presence and a smile to die for, and Jonah, Rosie and Justin were lovely too. We’ll be back, and we’ll tell friends and family to include Hastings House in their Salt Spring Island plans. Such a great resort and getaway.
