I’m here for work, and this place is somewhere in the middle, neither the best nor the worst. The staff are amazing and do what they can to keep you happy, and check-in is easy. This is my second week here. If I’m working in the area again, I’ll probably come back.

The whole week my boss paid for was chaotic, and I couldn’t sleep. Every night, there were loud, explicit noises from “street girls” in both rooms next to mine, with men coming and going. Strangers knocked on my door asking for substances or money. The second entrance opened onto a sketchy hallway, which made me especially uncomfortable. Customer service was terrible too. I was called a liar and told there were no working girls making loud noises. If you’re coming to Sarnia for work and need sleep, complain to your boss and have them book you somewhere else.

The owners were nice, but the bathroom was awful. The toilet was dirty and ran all night, and the tub dripped all night too. Paint was peeling, with cracks where the floor met the walls. The sheets and pillowcases were stained, so I used my own pillow and blanket. The room also had an odd smell.

I was in room 15, which seemed newly renovated and was very clean and spacious. The owners were amazing, super friendly, and did what they could to make the stay comfortable. I told the owner I was unsure because of reviews saying the place was dirty. He picked up some keys and offered to show me several rooms to demonstrate they were clean, which reassured me. I had no real issues, though the curtains could use better blackout, since they let in a lot of light. I’d come back.

The owner is really nice and does his best to sort out problems. He believes the customer is always right and was kind when I brought things to his attention. Things got a bit better after that, and I’m thankful. My issue was with the maid/cleaning lady. The first time I dealt with her, I’d never spoken to her before. As soon as I opened my door, she didn’t say hello or excuse me, she raised her voice and yelled at me. She seemed even more upset when I stayed calm and said she didn’t need to start yelling the moment I opened the door. After that, she’d complain and yell over the simplest things. I was there to keep to myself, not make friends or enemies, and she made that difficult. They seem like a very tight-knit little “family/friends” group, so if one person doesn’t like you, it feels like most of them won’t either, aside from the owner. Still, it’s a good place to get away if you want somewhere quick and cozy, with free WiFi, nice beds, and a great shower with really good water flow. 🙏
