I spent a long time chatting with the owners after I arrived, mostly with Tina. We started with her suggestions for the Cabot Trail, then talked about their business, my trip, work, relationships, and plenty of other things. The welcome felt great. The motel sits right at the beginning of the Cabot Trail, beside the water. I can't remember the name of it, but it sounds like a lovely place to unwind after a day out. Tina showed me photos of the northern lights from the backyard, too. I missed them because it poured while I was there. There isn't much else nearby, especially in the off season. The lobster place next door was closed when I visited, so it's worth planning ahead and getting food in Baddeck or somewhere along the way. The building looks a little dated from outside, and this isn't a luxury hotel, but the room was clean and had everything I needed: bed, bathroom, desk, TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, coffee pods, and tea bags. It's a great base for the trail if you know what to expect. I'd stay here again if I do the Cabot Trail.

Vince was quick to help whenever we had a question or ran into a problem, and he shared lots of useful places to visit and stops along the way. He seemed glad to hear we enjoyed his suggestions. We spent five days here exploring Cape Breton Island. It's a cosy little motel right by the start of the Cabot Trail, with clean, very comfortable rooms and a fantastic view of the Inlet. We could watch Bald Eagles and other sea birds from the room.

The lake view is amazing, and the price was affordable. The beds were really comfortable, and the rooms were clean and had what we needed, including coffee, tea, TV, heating, and fast, reliable WiFi. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, with genuinely useful tips. Great location. Highly recommend 😍😎🤠

We were cycling the Cabot Trail as a group, and this worked really well as our starting and finishing point. The owner let us leave our vehicles in a large grassy area for four nights and kept an eye on them. When one of our valve caps went missing, the owner taped it to our mirror so it would be easy to spot. The owners were especially friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend staying here!

Parking is only about four feet from the room, so getting our stuff out of the car was easy. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. The rate was reasonable, and the internet was fast. Right outside the Cabot Trail, beside a hillside full of fall color. Paradise in autumn.
