Motel Le Voyageur

The owner said I was in a smoking room and that was why it smelled strange. But after I kept the window and door open, the smell went away, which made me think the room had been vacant for a long time. The washroom was filthy, with stains all over the shower, and the towels looked dirty too, so I used my T-shirt to dry off. I paid $113 after tax because there were no rooms left in downtown Montreal during the AIDS conference 2022. This motel left me with a very bad impression. I won’t choose a motel for future trips, and I’ll remember to book ahead.

The check-in lady was good, and there’s an outdoor pool. It was a cute, very small room, but fine for one night. It had basic amenities and a mini cooler. The towels were small.

The walls are paper thin. A neighbor played loud music until 1am, and I heard a woman screaming in pain, as if she were being beaten. There was no hot water for a shower either. I’ll never come back.

I had a really good experience. It was clean, and the lady who checked me in was nice. She asked a few questions and took my temperature, which I understand.
