The Roses Heritage Inn

I really liked the hearty breakfast, and chatting with Norm the cook and the other guests was part of the fun. There’s also a lovely view from the back deck. I stayed two nights and found the bed and pillows very comfortable. The Roses Heritage Inn has plenty of charm and history. My room looked across the road at St. Thomas Church, which was charming, though being right above a bus stop meant some bus noise later in the evening. There’s AC for hot days. A room-darkening shade that still let the window unit run would have helped with sleeping. Definitely a place worth staying at.

The daily breakfasts have been outstanding, and we’re very comfortable here. We’ve been at the Roses Heritage Inn for three nights so far and have three more scheduled during our week in St. John's, August 18-24 2025. Our room, "Ship's Cove", is on the lowest level and has all the modern amenities, while its decor suits the historic style of the building. Everything is clean and works well. We parked across the street in a church lot and made a small donation.

We loved it. The rooms were comfortable and each had its own charm, and the breakfasts were a real highlight, so don’t miss them if they’re offered. Just be prepared for a bit of a carry if your room’s on the second or third floor.

We could walk downtown in just a few minutes, and parking was never a problem. When there wasn’t a spot right out front on Military Rd, we easily found one on a side street. The room was cozy and quiet even at night, despite being near a busy intersection. Breakfast was always amazing, and we looked forward to chatting with Norman, the breakfast chef. We loved our stay.
