The staff were nice and accommodating, and the room had the basics like towels, soap, coffee, and tea. This really is an inn, with a restaurant and hotel together, so you may pass diners on your way to your room. I found it fine for a night's sleep, but the walls are thin. You can hear diners, furniture being moved upstairs, and people partying outside. It’s near Water st., which means nightlife and drinking nearby. That’s handy if you’re here for pubs and bars, but this isn’t a relaxing retreat. Light sleepers should look elsewhere. I was fine with it.

The food was delicious, and the location and ambience felt perfect. But I can't recommend sleeping here. I planned to stay for several weeks, then cut the visit short because the young staff were loud and inappropriate, swearing, yelling, and running around as if the place were their treehouse. The front desk was often unattended, and the cleaning staff didn't speak English. I was nursing a fractured ankle and needed to stay put to avoid further treatment, which made the disruption especially difficult. During an extreme weather event, several professionals who had booked multiple nights were misplaced. Of course the weather wasn't anyone's fault, but it left a very bad impression on many people.

We stayed several nights and had no problems. There’s no reception, but after a quick phone call we got a code and key. The room was clean and nice, perfectly fine, and parking was easy in the garage across the street. It cost $15 to 20 per day.

The Duckworth Inn charged $30 to my card after housekeeping reportedly told staff I’d taken two bath towels. I didn’t take them, and they had no proof, yet used my credit card without permission. I felt falsely accused and called them the ones stealing. If you stay, I strongly recommend taking pictures of the room when you arrive and before you leave, and having someone there as a witness in case you’re accused too.

I paid over $850 for two nights and regret booking this place. Around midnight, just as I was going to shower, I found a live mouse in the shower. I called the host, who apparently sleeps on the ground floor of the same building. He came up with gloves and a cloth, killed it, took it away, and apologized. I've stayed in dozens of countries and never encountered a rodent in a shower. Mosquitoes, ants, or cockroaches are one thing, but this was beyond what I could accept. I won't return or recommend the place, even for free. The room was small, stuffy, and uncomfortable, with dead insects and grime in the light fixtures, cracked walls, sloppy patching, and exposed electrical areas. The air conditioner was wedged into the window so it couldn't close properly, leaving a visible gap to the outside. Heat and noise came in, and the unit was incredibly loud without cooling the room. The stairs were also ridiculously narrow and steep, a nightmare with heavy luggage. There was no reception or welcome, just a code and being left on your own. There was a sign saying the building is over 100 years old, and that it can't handle bulky items in the sewer. Fine, but apparently guests are expected to deal with live rats in the shower. Absolutely not.
