Eileen was amazing, and the place was fabulous, with that old-home feel. I booked after reading lots of reviews and wasn't disappointed. Her breakfasts were scrumptious. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

The hostess was very friendly and polite, and her breakfast was good, though it wasn't the Newfoundland-style food I expected. I'd read favorable reviews before staying at this Banberry B&B, but I was disappointed with our room. The bed was old and tilted, the bedding was old, and the room hadn't been updated much. The shower stall wouldn't close properly, so I had to shut the door before turning on the water. The window wouldn't open properly either, and the heat nearly suffocated me. I almost left on the second night, but didn't want to hurt her feelings. I had two bad nights of sleep. When I raised my concerns, I don't think they were taken seriously. Maybe my expectations are higher than most because I once owned a B&B, but it felt well below the standards I expect. I'm sure most guests are happy and content, and it's a good central spot for walking around St. John's.

Eileen was such a lovely host, and a great cook. The heritage home itself is beautiful.
