Travelodge Stony Plain

There are lots of food options nearby and the location is convenient, but I probably won’t stay again. The pool was closed, and throughout my six-day stay I only had warm water in the shower. When I raised it with the front desk, they said the pool repair was waiting on city inspector approval and the hot water problem was due to the boiler.

We liked being able to text for information and services, and my messages always got a quick response. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was an ideal place to meet our kids and grandson for Family Day. Thanks for letting them visit for the day.

We’ve stayed here dozens of times, but this visit was horrible. Around midnight, a heavily intoxicated man pounded so hard on the wall that a picture nearly fell and could have hit my young children. He was doing it because a hotel door had opened and shut. He was allowed to stay without any repercussions, while we were expected to move with our children and weren’t offered anything to make up for it. He also came into the main area heavily intoxicated, screaming at us and the staff. In my opinion, the hotel should have called the police. When we checked out, the woman at the front desk was rude, didn’t know about the incident, and asked us why we hadn’t handled it differently. I should feel safe here. The hot tub was Luke warm, had sand and debris in it, and left our skin feeling greasy. I wouldn’t recommend staying here with children.

The price was right and we enjoyed the continental breakfast. The pool was on the small side, which worked well for my 3 and 4yr old grandsons because it felt less intimidating. The location was easy to find and access, booking was quick and painless, and the reception desk greeted my son warmly. The room looked dated, though it was very clean and clearly well cared for over the years. The mattress felt like it had a paper covering, and the bathroom features sat too low. As we came in, plastic sheets covered things in the lobby, ledges and windows were taped off, and furniture had been shifted around to make room for arriving guests while keeping it clear for painting. I didn’t ask, but from what I could see, renovations seemed to be starting and likely becoming a priority across the floors and rooms.
