Quality Inn Garden of the Gulf Summerside

The coffee bar was right outside my room, which was handy since I was up by 7 each morning anyway. I stayed four nights on a bus trip from Ontario. The location was great, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. If you want to sleep in, though, ask for a room around the corner from the buffet area. People arriving for breakfast made it feel like an alarm going off. Great place!

The outdoor pool was clean and deep, and breakfast was good. The indoor pool in the main building looked grimy, so we skipped it. We were put in the separate building; its room was okay, but there was visible dirt, a stain on the lampshade, and paint on the carpet. The bathroom was tiny, and the door only closed properly if you shut it hard. The main building hallways have a cool design, and the staff were nice. It’s an alright hotel. I expected more for the Quality Inn name and the price, but I would come back.

I checked in Friday night because I couldn’t cross the bridge to get home. A hockey tournament was staying at the hotel, and it was extremely noisy. I raised my concerns, but the staff did nothing.

The hotel is comfortable, nicely equipped, and you can make yourself coffee or tea throughout the day. Breakfast was the weak point for the price. We stayed three nights, but bacon was available only on the first morning. The hard-boiled eggs had always run out, and when I asked, I had to wait 20 minutes. The two women working there moved very slowly and didn’t seem to notice when the orange juice, toast, eggs, or other things were gone. We had to point it out every time. They looked busy, but mostly just walked back and forth without getting anything done.
