When I checked in, they said they wouldn't honour the agreed rate because my wife had made the booking and I didn't have her ID. I asked them to look up my corporate rate, but was told we didn't have one. So I phoned central reservations, and they found that my company does have a corporate rate. They even gave me the nightly amount I should be paying. I went back to the desk and explained what reservations had found. They said this was a private hotel and they didn't have to honour corporate rates. The front desk person said they'd ask the manager whether there was anything they could do, but when I checked out, I was told they weren't going to do anything about it. The rate wasn't changed. I travel often for work and won't stay somewhere that plays this game with corporate rates and then claims to be private. I told them that if this was their decision, I'd never stay there again. I won't be returning.

The hotel's cleanliness and very cooperative staff helped make a wonderful family holiday for us at Holiday Inn & Suites Surrey. We also liked the location. I'd definitely recommend it and would love to come back with my family.

I've booked this hotel for friends twice now, and wanted to say how much I appreciate its consistent quality. Booking was easy, the accommodations were clean, and my friends felt comfortable. The atmosphere was pleasant, too. It's been a wonderful experience.

The room was fine, but there was no hot water for a shower around 9am on Sunday. The pool and fitness area smelled awful. I've never experienced anything like it, and they need a thorough cleaning.

The pillows were AMAZING, and I liked the TV and the lighting. There was a Keurig with cups, pods, and condiments, plus a microwave and mini fridge. The bed was too soft for my taste, though that's not the hotel's fault. The staff were really nice, from housekeeping to the desk clerk and restaurant server, and the restaurant food was excellent. The room had some problems: a dead spider on the drapes, a safety pin stuck in the carpet, and what looked like an old blood stain on one bed's blanket. The pool deck needed a good scrub and felt dangerous if you weren't careful. I might stay again if I had the chance, but I'd inspect the room more closely before settling in.
