Quality Inn & Suites Thompson

The staff were good and breakfast was good, but I may just have been unlucky with the room. There was a buzzing on my pillow, maybe from a fan running somewhere, and I think I got about four hours of sleep. I asked to move rooms the next day, but they were full, so it wasn't a great experience.

Crystal Degrave, the Front Office Manager, made me feel at home during my stay. Thank you for such warm hospitality.

The room was a good size, clean, and had useful kitchen gear: an apartment-size fridge/freezer, hot plate, microwave, sink, and kitchen utensils. The king bed was fairly comfortable, and there was plenty of storage. The odd part was that someone had removed all the baseboards and left the job unfinished, so it looked trashed. The cleaning staff were nice, but the front desk wasn't very friendly. It might be a language issue, but the person there often wouldn't even look at me when I came in or say hello. If I spoke to them, they'd smile. Breakfast had a limited selection and stopped at 9, which I wish were later. I ended up eating at the Northern, about a 10 minute walk away. The location is handy, two minutes on foot from Boston Pizza and five minutes from the Safeway/Walmart mall and Tim Horton. A room on the 3RD floor is quiet. Hotels in Thompson are all wood construction, so soundproofing isn't great.

A good stay overall. The rooms were clean and had kitchens, and the morning breakfast was at a good level. The hotel lives up to its name.
