Sasagiu Rapids Lodge

The staff were so welcoming and friendly that they made the whole visit especially enjoyable. The Thai food is a big reason I'd come back. The Thai Noodle Soup was my favorite, and the breakfast sandwiches were great too. Honestly, the food is worth the drive from Winnipeg. Our room was dated, but it suited our needs in such a remote northern spot. It was pet friendly, there are lots of places to walk around the property, and our elderly dog was happy. The shower had wonderfully strong pressure, especially for someone like me who loves a hot, powerful shower. You can hear the Grass River rapids nearby, and Pisew Falls isn't too far away. If you don't need to be in Thompson, I'd recommend Sasagiu Rapids Lodge. Even if you do, it's a 45-minute drive, and I preferred being around nature to the "wildlife" lurking around Thompson.

The rooms are very tired and the exterior could use some attention, but the location is lovely and the stay was fun. The Thai food was genuinely excellent, especially for such a surprising spot.

I came for a work trip and was glad this was the place where I found a room. The staff were really friendly, the service was great, and the food was amazing. I'm from Winnipeg, and I haven't had Thai food that good in the city. I'd stay here again.

We often don't know until the last minute when we'll need a place to stop, and the owners do their best to accommodate us when rooms are available. Sometimes we arrive late at night to find a pizza waiting that we ordered ahead. This little gem is a bit more than halfway along our trip back to our remote Northern home, and I'm grateful for it. The owners are warm and treat us like family. I've stayed here for both business and vacation.
