Lakehead Motel

Tuesday is one of the busiest booking days here, and after the Ramada Inn put me in a flooded room, I needed somewhere on very short notice. The owner found room for four and was really understanding. The rooms have been modernized and were clean, with the beds freshly made before we arrived. Woke up without any bug bites. It’s a great little motel, and I’d stay again. You can’t beat the local price.

The owner handled our complaint with a really poor attitude. When we pointed out the dirty room, including hair in the corners and a strange smell, they got mad and insisted they had cleaned it. When we checked out early, he literally told us to get out. A business owner shouldn’t speak to customers that way. Very bad customer service, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

For $90 for two people, we got two nice beds, a fridge, a microwave, and our own temperature control. The bathroom was nice and new, though I didn’t take pictures. It was a great place for the price, better than I expected.

We were there for Bluesfest and only needed somewhere to sleep, so the lack of amenities was fine. The room was small but very clean, with mattress and pillow protectors that I appreciated, and a new bathroom. It was quiet and close to the venue, and the staff were really friendly. The price is hard to beat, and I’d stay again.
