My friend and I were in the city for the Sabrina Carpenter concert on November 10th and 11th. I booked through Expedia with my credit card and, despite being a little nervous at first, we had an amazing stay, easily a 10/10. They let us check in early, which was super handy, and the owner / management was polite, thorough, and quick to communicate. We were close to everything we wanted to see, and the soundproofing was impressive. The evenings were quiet and cozy. Having an extra bedroom was a rare, lovely bonus, and they also let us check out late so we could make our 5 PM flight. Highly recommend!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Beware. I paid $2000 for a two-bedroom apartment that was 17°C. Luckily there were two space heaters in the closet, because the room heater/AC only pumped cold air. The elevators were awful: sometimes we waited up to five minutes, and choosing a floor once inside was a struggle. Everyone was complaining about them. We never got to use the pool. Our supervisor said it might be closed for maintenance and told us to ask someone else. Getting into the building and then the room was a chore from the start. There are security guards, but they won’t help “short stay guests”; they just point to the sign. Anything we needed had to be requested by phone or text from my supervisor in New York. We didn’t learn until check-in day that we’d be sharing the suite with other people. We were originally assigned a room with seven other guests and told to take only 30 minutes in the shower so everyone could shower that day. I panicked, since my wife has serious medical issues and takes diuretics to remove excess water from her heart, and we had our 9-year-old daughter with us. They moved us to a room with an ensuite bathroom, but I paid an additional $950 so we could be alone in the suite. We left 16 hours early and didn’t stay the third night. The bad experience lasted from start to finish, including getting the damage deposit back. Beautiful Serviced Suites with Lake Views, 21 Iceboat Terrace, Toronto, ON M5V 4A9 CANADA, Room # 1709.
The Expedia listing leaves out details that people would want before booking and is extremely misleading. Then, on the day of arrival, they call to say you’ll be sharing a room with other people. This place is a scam, and if I could give negative stars, I would. They said Hotels.com could arrange a refund, then stopped answering calls and texts, even though they’d explicitly told me to call or text. Hotels.com didn’t help either. None of the positive reviews mention the shared bathroom or the sky-high deposit. I’m convinced they’re making fake accounts to make this place seem at least somewhat passable as a hotel.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make sure I had a good stay. My room was spacious, nicely decorated, and had everything I needed. The location made sightseeing easy, and I enjoyed the amenities, delicious breakfast, and relaxing atmosphere. I had a fantastic stay and will definitely come back.
The place was spotless, and free parking was a big bonus in such a prime spot. The location made exploring easy, with everything I needed close by. Communication with the host was seamless, and they answered questions quickly and helpfully. I had an incredible stay, would highly recommend it, and would book again.
