Super 8 by Wyndham Downtown Toronto

It’s reasonably priced and in an excellent location. The place was fairly clean, and the beds were somewhat comfortable, but don’t come expecting luxury or a four-star hotel. The front desk staff weren’t very helpful. When we visited, the parking lot elevators were shut down, and the mall escalators leading to the hotel weren’t running either. The only access was by stairs or elevator, so keep that in mind if someone in your group needs accessibility accommodations.

We had a lot of space and some privacy, thanks to a wall dividing our two Queen beds from the couple sharing the room with us. The rooms were clean and felt modern. Staff were very friendly, and parking was discounted. The hotel sits above a little mall. For the price and location, it’s a great choice for events near Chinatown.

The main thing that sets this place apart is being right in the middle of Chinatown. I don’t think there are many other hotels with that particular location. It looks just nice enough from what I’ve seen, though I haven’t stayed overnight and have only passed through a few times. There’s a small eating area with a coffee machine, and it seems the food is mostly pastries and fruit trays. I don’t know the nightly rate, but other nearby options may be competitive on price.

We stayed here on 06.18.18, and the king jacuzzi suite was wonderful. It was huge and super clean, and the Front Desk Agent who checked us in was fantastic and really friendly. My best friend and I were both impressed. The only letdown was that they didn’t have toothpaste, which I thought they would. Otherwise, it was a great stay. We’ll use this location whenever we’re in Toronto for concerts.
