The Beverley Hotel

The rooms were new, clean, and pleasant, and the hotel cafeteria had tasty, healthy snacks at a great price. Staff were attentive and polite. I also liked the setting, with bars, restaurants, and nightlife nearby, along with offices, businesses, and government buildings. I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it for a few nights in Toronto.

The rooms are small, but well kept and do the job. The building felt secure, and the rooftop area was really nice. I paid $300 for a Friday night during game 1 of the World Series, and it was a 10 minute walk from Rogers centre. The place exceeded my expectations. Check-in was a great experience too, the woman working there was one of the friendliest customer service people I've met.

We arrived very early in the morning after our flight, tired and needing sleep. At first the employee just told us check-in was at 3:00 pm. I wish he'd offered to prioritize the room once it was vacated, since that would've felt more hospitable. I had to call again later to ask if it would be ready, and then he said we could have it by 1:00 pm. That was good news, but the lack of a solution in the first interaction was disappointing. He did kindly store our luggage and bring it to us once we got into the room, but it wasn't a great start.

I only needed a simple room for one night at The Beverley before an 8am appointment, and it was just right for a short stay. Nothing fancy. Many thanks to Ruby, who was an excellent hostess.
