Our last-minute booking was no problem, even though we arrived after midnight. The owner waited up for us, was really friendly and helpful, and offered us breakfast too. The rooms and overall comfort were OK.

The house is a little crowded, but it all feels cozy and there’s a place for everything. We settled in after a late arrival and, once we got past the initial restlessness, it felt like coming home to an uncle we hadn’t seen in years. Our host looked after us wonderfully, and breakfast was proper home cooking, with sausages, jams, breads, juice, coffee and fruit. The big dining table made it easy to linger and talk. A small fluffy dog greeted us with loads of excitement, and the whole welcome felt warm from the start. We’d more or less been stranded in Tross Pistole on our road trip, so we called late, asking for a room in a mix of English and French. The room was ready for “the last guests of the season.” We’ll be back, with more notice next time, to see our new uncle in Tross Pistole. Thanks for the help, the lovely conversations and the good breakfast. If you’re open to the experience, you’ll get more than just a night’s sleep.

We ended up chatting with our host for nearly two hours over a generous breakfast at the big table. There were sausages, fruit, jams, juice, cold cuts and coffee, and hardly anything we wanted was missing. We talked in a mix of English and French about other guests and their faraway home countries, as well as our travel plans and what comes next. The house is small, full and warm, and staying there felt like visiting relatives after a long time. The rooms and bathroom were clean, cozy and quaint, with beds that were roomy enough and comfortable. There’s a little dog living with the warm-hearted host, a charming whirlwind who looks a lot like Falkor, just smaller. So this B&B won’t suit people with dog allergies. We were the first German guests, welcomed late that evening, and we’re definitely looking forward to another visit to Trois Pistoles.

For the price, it was just right. We were six adults and a baby, and had a really pleasant, fun stay at Hugues's place. The host was welcoming and attentive to everyone’s comfort, and the full-service brunch was a nice offering. The facilities are somewhat dated, though comfortable enough. He also seemed a little nervous about people disturbing his things.
