The location worked especially well for getting around the area. I've stayed twice, once for a week in a full apartment in 2015 and again for a weekend in a room in 2019, and both visits were fantastic. The place was spotless, and the hostess was friendly while still giving me privacy and being there when needed. Parking behind the building, off the street, was handy.

Getting into the building was difficult, and the neighborhood felt sketchy. Inside, the loft itself was pleasant, but it wasn't well equipped. The bathroom outlet didn't work, and there were no other mirrors to use while getting ready. The kitchen had old wooden cupboards that didn't look like they could be cleaned properly, even though there wasn't anything visibly dirty.

The restaurants aren't right nearby, which is why I'm giving it four stars. Rue des Forges, which seems to be the main strip, is walkable in about 10-15 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was great.

The traffic from the highway next to the building could be heard all night, so I took off a star. The place has a vintage feel, with decor to match, and it made me think of the movie :La Bolduc. The beds and linens, though, are new and comfortable.

For the price, this was much cheaper than a typical hotel and had plenty on offer: a fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker, cream and milk, juice and water in the fridge, housecoats, sauna, hot tub, elliptical, exercise bike, treadmill, and rooftop terrace. The decor was great, and check-in and checkout were easy to do yourself. I'd definitely recommend it.
