The hotel doesn't have a restaurant or other food, though there is a bar. The staff are amazing and willing to go the extra mile, especially if you don't speak a word of French.

The exterior looked so sketchy and rehab central that I'm glad my wife wasn't with me, or we might have left before going in. Inside, the rooms were clean and updated, and breakfast was full-on awesome.

The hot water pressure in the third-floor shower was great. The old building has been renovated extensively in a modern style, and it's extremely clean. The pictures showing Native culture, mining, and the hotel's history are well done. Staff gave us a warm welcome, and there's free parking, breakfast, and wifi. Many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. I'm taking off one star because ventilation needs attention in the next renovation. The elevator's clean lemon mix Kool-Aid smell was pleasant but too intense, and the upper hallways smelled strongly of wet carpet. Our room had an overpowering men's cologne smell. The window knobs had been removed, so we couldn't air it out, and there was no bathroom fan. Odors from people in the bathroom stayed in the room all night.
