We were in the area to see family and friends in Pugwash and Wallace, so staying here worked out perfectly. Carol was lovely and flexible about when we had breakfast, and we had a great time chatting over coffee with her and the other guests. The room felt cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the inn had a welcoming, quaint feel. Breakfast was divine, too. My husband and I stayed three nights in September 2021, and we'd happily recommend it and come back when we're nearby.

The night got frightening after we arrived. At around 4 a.m., the driver's son was running around the house, yelling and having shadow fights with other “ninjas.” It was the craziest night of my life, and I'm glad we got through it, though I worry it could happen to other guests too. Earlier, the same driver had picked the four of us up from the golf course in a blue two-door Mustang that couldn't fit all our gear. After arguing with course staff, he drove off, bragged about his car, fishtailed through the parking lot, and then reached speeds of 195 mph on the open road to show off. He lost control more than once. Once we were settled, we played pool. The son joined us as if we were friends, drank some of our beers, then asked if we “party.” We said no, and he disappeared. I felt bad for his mother in the morning. She made an amazing breakfast, which I didn't eat, and offered to drive us to get our car at 6:30 a.m.

We asked for a refund and were told they don't give them. The place was terrible in nearly every way: the property was overgrown with weeds and badly needed attention, and the wallpaper throughout was peeling. Our room was shabbily furnished, with stains on the bedside chair. The bathroom needed a thorough cleaning, and the tissue dispenser was on the floor. The A/C did work well. What a poor first impression of Nova Scotia for a visitor.

Carol was in the kitchen and Herb served us, and they were great. Our anniversary meal at Jubilee Cottage was amazing, just right for such a special occasion. We couldn't have asked for better.

The room was clean and spacious, with its own washroom, a TV, and great Wi-Fi. Breakfast was included and delicious. The hosts were excellent, and the supper they offer was incredibly well done and tasty, too.
